It's been a while since I've posted anything. Mainly because I've trapped myself in the cave that is my tiny studio apartment, illustrating until 5 in the morning most days. It's draining but very rewarding! Here is a wee snippet of the penciling from my first graphic novel titled Valiant. Hope it perks your interest for now. It's taking longer than I thought but I'm working hard to get it done. Cheers.

Since I did a pin up of the Marvel super heroes I thought it only be appropriate to do one of the DC characters, which are the ones I mostly grew up on. I think here I was more able to capture of the iconic characteristics of each figure than the other one. I showed it to a writer/illustrator for Marvel comics that I met with for coffee not too long ago. He wasn't too hyped on this one. Though to be fair, I asked his opinion. Hope you like it. Cheers

So a couple of weeks ago I endured maybe the hardest trial I have ever faced. A STYE. While I was sulking under my hot compress, I was asked by my friend Joseph Hurtgen to do a small comic to contribute to his blog. I had no clue what to do and had other projects I was working at the time. Then it dawned on me as by right eye swelled with pain that I should illustrate this very traumatic experience.
Make sure to check out his blog too. It's pretty great!

Been out of commission for the last couple of days. Here's a couple concept drawings I did for my graphic novel I'm currently writing and illustrating. Don't want to give too many details just yet but here ya go. Meet Yuuta and Wyn, two of my main protagonists. No, she's not meant to be taller than him. Even though that usually is the story of my life...

The Blue Man Rises

While I've been eagerly awaiting the new episodes of Arrested Development, I made this. Tobias would be proud.

That Happened

This really did happen to me when I was a kid...

Mr. Darcy

Meet Mr. Darcy. If you understand the reference then you have watched or know something about Jane Austen's Pride And Prejudice. I for the record have never read the book nor watched the film and know just as little about it. A friend of mine, Kristen, has a little pup that she named after Mr. Darcy, which drew me to drawing this.
Ever since I was a kid I was always taken back by comic books and comic book heros. There was something about the storytelling through sequential pictures that would get me excited. I remember taking my Wolverine action figure, grabbing a sheet of printing paper, a pencil and setting the figure beside me and trying the draw it as detailed and close to life as possible. While I don't own action figures anymore I still enjoy illustrating those larger than life characters. Here's a illustration I penciled, inked then finished in photoshop(which I am still in the process of learning) Enjoy.

Welcome to my blog site! I've been drawing my entire life and am finally getting on track with updating and sharing my work. Please feel free to comment or send me a e-mail. Cheers
Self portrait circa 2010. I should draw a new one...
